The double brim of this hat gives a snug fitting hat without the need for a separate, ribbed brim. The stocking stitch gives a smooth and consistent texture. With this simple base you can use colours to add flare and, with the same pattern, create a brilliant range of hats for any adult.
The pattern uses stocking stitch, provisional cast on, and a pattern of decrease stitches to shape the hat. Once mastered this pattern and technique will allow you to be creative and to use different stitches and colours to design your own creations.
